I am looking into buying a 3 CCD camcorder and was looking for some reviews or opinions on the GL2 and the VX2100. I mainly use my camera to film skateboarding, so anyone that films a lot of skateboarding I would really like your opinion.

I voted for the GL2. I've got one and love it!

I just purchased a GL2 but since I don't have a VX2100, I can't say which is better. I recommend you go to DV Info.net, which has forums for both cameras. They concentrate more on the camera itself rather than on video editing, which is what WVP is all about.

Actually mine is a GL1, bought a couple of months before the -2 was announced. As it happens, though, the reason for the selection was that the item I truly lusted after was the XL1s, which I absolutely could not afford. Started poring over photos and specs of its little sister, never really considered the virtues (which I understand are considerable) of the Sony. Not a very helpful response, but it did happen that way, movin' west.
chul2!
For skating I would go with the VX2100, since it's good for night shooting because of the better low-lighting performance.
