You can burn to DVD from Premiere (version 2 and previous), no need to import into Encore. I would expect it's no different in CS4.

i have both cs2 n cs4... in cs2 ...yes u can burn direct to disk...but the problem is in cs4...it doesnt have that option anymore.. u MUST export to encore...
you can open a project in cs4 that was originally edited in cs2...but u cannot open a cs4 edited project in cs2...it wont "down-convert"
so since the project was edited in cs4...i MUST export to encore....thats how they designed it now...
any advise?
thx

I could be wrong, but it should be as easy as bring your file into Encore as a timeline, might need just a blank menu, and link the timeline "first play".

I have CS3, so I'm not sure if it's the same in CS4. If you have Encore, then it's not a problem. In Premiere you have the option to export to Encore. When you select that option you will be give a choice to create a DVD with or without a menu.
If you don't have Encore...well, then it's a 3rd party option.

According to lynda.com, you should be able to do this if you have a sequence you want to export by:
1. Select your sequence in Premiere and select File -Adobe Dynamic Link - Send to Encore.
2. This opens Encore and you fill out the stuff to create an Encore project.,
3. This opens the prooject and you have a timeline with your sequnce as the only thing in the project window.
4. With the project tab selected go to properties and set end action to return to last menu.
5. Go to Build and in properties set title button to stop.
6. Try previewing
7. Then just build the disk. Actually, I'd build a folder and burn the dvd with ImgBurn, but that's just my preference.
The caveat is I've never done this since I have CS3, but I'd be interested to know if this works.
