This little video was really designed to do more Premiere Elements 7 explorations. The questions I was asking: You have shot bad green screen footage... can you save it? Can you pull a key on food dye??? Can you key frame green screen? Plus a few others. I have to say, I am impressed with PE7! Perhaps it is my new computer but my videos render in less time than it takes to view them! The link:

FWIW, I think that idea of a liquid green screen is amazing. If you don't mind, I have a few questions.
1. You didn't just fake that with some effects? (Sorry, but I had to ask).
2. Since I assume it took several minutes for the dye to disperse, did you have to use time remapping to make it appear to occur over a few seconds?
3. Do you think the green liquid has to be opaque? I've got some clear green mouthwash (Scope), which I may try.
4. I was wondering where you used the keyframes on the green screen key?
Anyway, great as usual. Thanks for sharing.

Hi, John... Thanks for your warm comments. It was mainly an experiment. I am not sure what you mean, "Fake that with some effects?" As you saw, I first video'd myself pouring the green dye into the water, then I shot a close up where I placed the glass vase in front of white cardboard and poured the food dye in. Apparently, it's fine being transparent and I didn't speed up the footage. I put a key frame at the beginning of the sequence with no transparency and then a few seconds later, key framed it to full transparency. Of course, at the end, I reversed the footage. I liked the food dye because of the way it billows in the water. I don't think mouth wash would do that. Any other questions?
