was wondering if you can change russian subtitles to english on an .avi file?

if so how and with what program?

Are you referring to DivX - AVI or DV-AVI? If the subtitles are hard embedded with the video, you can not change them. However, if it's a Divx or XviD file with a separate Russian .srt file, you just need to replace the .srt file with the English subtitles.

When you use Encore in which they give you option do to burn with Menu or without Menu there is also option that to change Subtitle.
