Full Version: Video Fading Into Menu Question

Hi all -
I have done this before, but I am having total brainfade, and cannot get it to work. I have built a menu in Encore. I've taken that menu as a .psd file, and used Premiere to animate it... so that the images and text fly in in various ways.

What I want is for the video of the animation to play, and then end on the actual menut that is then usable to navigate the DVD.

I've set the motion tab on the menu to see the video, but when I preview, it shows the first frame of the video, and plays the music, but the "real" menu is visible the whole time, and the animation video doesn't progress.

How do I set it up to play the video, then segue into the menu?

OK... a little "duh" here... but I still need some help. I put the intro video (the animation of the menu building itself) into a timeline, and set it as first play, with the actual menu as it's end action. Now it plays the video, and then goes to the menu just like I want it to... but there is a black space pause between the end of the menu video and the display of the actual video. How to I make that gap go away so it looks seamless?

What I'd do is create a motion background (it sounds like you have done that), and then put it into the menu, and set the loop point so the buttons become active after they fly in. This avoids the black.

Sometimes you may need a second menu (say if you are using play all and scene select).

Since I don't explain well, I put together a tutorial here called "Simple Motion Menu" in the list which you could check out if you wish
