im trying to make a karaoke dvd i have about 100 mpegs i want to drag into the timeline how can i make encore automatically set a chapter point for the beginning of each mpeg rather than clicking each one and set it as it would take forever

I just created a DVD in Encore CS3 and added seven video clips on one timeline...Encore automatically added the chapter mark at the beginning of each clip.

having problems now encore wont import any of my .mpg i thought it supports .mpg

Unless you have the MainConcept MPEG plugin installed the quality of the output from PPRO will be reduced because it will re-compress the footage. I don't know of a way to automatically set sequence markers that will transfer to Encore.
What is the source of your mpg files? You'll have better luck if you convert your files to mpg2 or dv-avi and then import into Encore. Try using G-Spot to check the codec used...they might be mpg (h.264) files...which I don't think will work in PPRO or Encore.
You might try doing a mass conversion. There are third-party apps that can convert in batch mode.
