If I create something in hd, widescreen what's the best way to export it?

Basically I want to keep the quality as good as possible, then use all these files and edit together in a reel and save to a normal format, that's not completely uncompressed.

I usually create my motion graphics in 1080p too make sure it's not too small when editing down to a normal widescreen dv project in ppro.
I still want to be able to view the files though in vlc, so image sequence isn't really an option. If I export uncompressed I really can't watch it, it just stops after around 1 sec or something.

So:
I want to be able to view it.
Keep the quality as good as possible.
Import to premiere.

Export it as BluRay mpeg.

After a little bit of research it seems that most people use quicktime and the animation setting. For pretty much everything they export.

What's the advantage of using this? The files are pretty big which isn't really an issue and playback works fine most of them. I usually have to let vlc let it playthrough once with 2fps before I can actually watch the video.
