Hi,

I have ONE TIMELINE and in that I have few chapter markers. I have to have one playall button to play from start to finish,, and three buttons to PLAY and return to menu after the end of chapter.

PlayAll is playing from start to finish whereas when button is clicked it plays from the chapter marker and instead of going back to the menu, it plays continuosly. I want it to play as mentioned in the above paragraph.

I know this can be done easily by exporting separate timelines instead of one but I want to use only one timeline.

Thanks and best regards,

Ash

Ash,

If you have Encore 2.0 or above, what I would do is
1. Make sure there are no overrides or end actions set anywhere except at the end of the timeline .

2. Make separate chapter playlists for each chapter and set the end action of the playlist to return to the menu.

3. Link each button to the appropriate chapter playlist.

Sorry if I rambled here. Let me know if it works.

Hi John,

Thanks for the instant reply.

I followed the same procedure creating separate chapter playlists for each chapter and linking each button to the appropriate chapter playlist but still when the button is clicked it is playing from start to finish.

However I have not made any settings to the timeline endaction.. just left it default to "not set".

Ash,
I always worry about insulting somebody's intelligence, so I appologize for this question, but do you have the end action of each chapter playlist set to return to the menu you want?.
PLus there are no overrides set anywhere? Sometimes they accidently get set in my projects.

It's fine dude. Yes I did set the end action to return to the menu.

Tutorial #2 in the blue section http://www.encoretuts.ukpc.net/encore%202.html

what version of Encore are you using Ash?

Thanks DAve.

I'm using encore cs4. I'll check the file now.

I did the following procedure and it seems to work...

I selected each button and pickwhipped to the corresponding chapter markers. Clicked each chapter marker on the TIMELINE and selected endaction as menu.

Created a chapter playlist. Added all the chapters and gave end action as menu.

This worked well and I got the menu to work. I have not touched overrides or timeline endaction at all.

Thanks and best regards,
