Once you import a video file into Encore and transcode it can you delete the original file and still build properly or will that cause a problem? I do understand that you will not be able to revert to original if you do this.

Have you tried relocating or renaming the original video file and then get Encore to build the project again....

That's exactly my question. No, I haven't tried and was waiting for a response before I attempted it.

I was in no way trying to be flippant with my reply to your original post, i was merely suggesting you to try safely remove a small file from your project and then try the Encore build.
However, in answer to your question, I have just removed a small video file from a project that i had already built, and the video played back just fine on the preview, it would appear that once the file has been imported into Encore as a timeline then Encore must store it in the project folder (which i do believe it does).
I then ran the Build disc folder and Encore happily built the project for fun without any hassles or tantrums..
Hope this helps.. but please do remember that what works for one may not work for others....
