Hi all - I haven't posted in a very long time (got married, bought a house, had a baby... life's been busy!)

I'm putting together a quick video with Premiere Pro and have some black video in it (New item > black video). I'm using it as a fade in to a scene.

So everything looks good and I export the video from PP. I play it back in Windows Movie Player and everything looks good. But when I go to import it as a timeline into Encore it takes out the black video and leaves a freeze frame of the first frame of the video.

I haven't been using PP or Encore for a while now - I've just been busy - so I may have just forgotten a step.

Any help would be appreciate -- Thanks!

Can anyone help me on this? I'm using PP 1.5 and Encore DVD 1.5

Adding the black video should not create the behavior you describe....but you can try not using the black video and just put a gap in the time line before the first clip (this will show as black). Add the dissolve filter to the beginning of the clip you want to fade up. See if that helps.

If Janice advice does not help, add a soundless audio wavefile under the black video.

Also uncheck "Optimize Stills" when you export from Premiere. There were known issues with that function in versions of Encore earlier than CS3.
