i have it set to loop forever. when i preview it it does what i have it set to but when i make the disk to dvd it stops after one loop. i found this out after i duplicated it a few times in my 10 target duplicator... i am runnning XP Pro SP2 with 2Gram on a P43.4G ht system.
Ann
Had the same problem once. Remade the menu and problem solved.
JeffB
Do you have any overrides set? Anywhere?
Ann
I had no overrides set.

no just one menu. this happened to another project with a single menu
Ann
I mean start over in a new project, you don't need to redo the menu in PS.

hmmmm it happens no matter what i make. should i try and make a disk image and then burn from that and see if it works?

Thanks for sharing this nice link.

what link?
aptaproductions
odd it only does this when i have music in the menu.
Ann
If your music is mp3 change it to wav. For export settings choose dolby or pcm.
aptaproductions
it's a wav and set to dolby digital
Ann
Well try pcm

If you wouldn't mind I have a couple of questions.

1. Is this the same project as back in May?
2. You're using Encore 2.0?
3. You have a motion menu of ? seconds which loops numberous times in the Encore Preview window after you Rendered Motion Menus?
4. You burned the disk directly from Encore (Build - DVD) and the movie background in the movie would only play once on the disk?
5. You removed all "overrides" with no help?
6. The original motion background had sound and played ok in the "Preview", and taking out the sound didn't help the disk burning.
7. This problem occurs only in this project or in all your DVD projects?
8. If it's just this one project, have you redone the project from scratch, being careful not to change any of the assets, etc after you import them?

FWIW, what I've been doing is burning a DVD folder and then actually burning the disk with ImgBurn to see if that corrects the problem. Just do a brief project to check.
Here's a long thread, which may partially apply to your problem Particularly the last several several messages.

seems to be working right now. thank you. don't know why i set override to the menu or at all.

Have you had a chance to see if the burned disk works ok?

I have no idea why the overrides get put in occasionally or why the overrides do that, but Jeff Bellune may.
He originally suggested getting rid of them.

Overrides change the end action of the target of a link or an end action.

Example. T1's end action links to T2 which links to T3. The idea is to play all 3 timelines in order. If you set the override of T1 to M1, then T3 will never play because the end action of T2 is overridden and the disc's navigation is sent to M1 instead of the expected T3.

If you have a whole bunch of overrides set on a whole bunch of different links you can see that your disc navigation can get smurfed in a hurry. If you set overrides to be the same as the end action, then you get the mysterious "how come my timeline plays twice and then stops?" or "how come my timeline T2 plays twice before T3 plays?"
JohnR
Thanks for that explanation.

I have another question as to what is the best way to set up links which I'll post separately.
