I have this little black and white drawing i would like to convert into a vector drawing (preferrablly in Illustrator) for Invigorator in After Effects. Is there a way to do this?

There is a feature called Live Trace in Illustrator designed just for what your are asking.
I dont know if i am doing it right but its vector now but for the whole picture its become a box. But I want the outlines of the drawing itself, is that possible?

I guess I would have to see it to understand the issue. Is is possible you could post the image before and after conversion....or I'll PM you my email address and you could send it to me.
Well i found the outlines but they show up as light blue with no dots and i need the red (arrow) or dark blue outlines with dots. Does that make any sense?
I'm not familiar with Illustrator at all.

Ann...Sorry...I'm still not clear. We're the "dots" on the original art?

Ann,
A while back I got some out of date tutorials from Total Training on Illustrator, which were really cheap, and for basic stuff, they probably would tell you how to get started.

OK, thanks both. I think i will take a different aproach and try to draw the logo directly in Illustrator.
An update: did the live trace and then did live paint and that gave me what i wanted.
