On the wondertouch website, it says that particle illusion 3.0 requires a video card with Open Gl. I don't even have that, and yet the program works fine on my computer. In fact, the program even works on my computer at work, which is probably the cheapest piece of junk computer in the world. So I guess my question is, what is the difference between having an Open Gl video card and not having one?. Obviously its not a real requirement, otherwise it wouldnt be able to work on my computer.

Yes... I would like someone to explain what an open GL is... PI works fine on MY computer but I have no idea if I even HAVE a GL, let alone whether it is opened or closed!

Open GL is another way your computer draws graphics. Have you ever heard of DirectX? I think the most recent version is 9.0c or something. But basically it uses a different formula to render graphics, and I think it's more vector based. I could be totally wrong on that though. But all that is really important is that it is just another way your computer handels graphics.

LOL... Um... er... Okay... Is there a way to tell if you have an open GL???

Hey Paul. Nice to see you posting again. I haven't see you on here in a while. For a while there I thought my "Staring Contest" video sent you to your room crying. haha.

Depending on your graphics card, if you right click on your desktop, go to properties, then settings tab, then the advanced button. You can sometimes see it in there. With the ATI drivers there's a tab for it, with Nvidia, You have to search a little bit.

Hi, RyTom... Hey... I LOVED your staring video!

Matto... thanks for the info. It looks like I DO have open GL

Hey Paul, since you have paint shop pro, I'm hoping you can help me with something. I want to save an image as an alpha channel, so I can bring it into particle illusion. I'm trying to do an orbing/ transporter type effect, where the particles stay inside the shape of the alpha channel. Could you walk me through how to create an alpha channel in paint shop pro. please!!

Don't know if I can help you there, Ryan. I am not exactly sure what you want. Could you be a little clearer?

It turns out that I also have Open Gl. Thanks for the tips Fernando!
