Hi folks,

My video productions is mostly for my home videos and the occasionnal Dance Recitals. We call ourselves MJM Productions, the acronym MJM being the first letters of my wife, daughter and yours truly's first name.

I asked my daugther (10) to come up with a logo picture for MJM Production. She loves cats and came up with the picture you will see in the opening of the clip.

I used the picture to make a 10 second video to be inserted as a first play on the DVDs I produce.

I would appreciate any comments.

MJM Production Logo

Thank you

Looks good, but i think you should have a moving background not much movement though but a little bit.
Do you have ae?

If you do:
Make a new solid with the FRACTAL NOISE filter change the setings as you like,
Put 2 keyframes for the evolution and make it evolve 1 rotation or a half rotation.
Then add the hue/saturation filter and change the color off it so its not grey and boring. I think some light yellow/orange would be good.
I think this will make it look a little bit better.

I like the dance one... how did you get the effect of the dancing woman?

Not sure about the moving background idea for the logo though.... sometimes less is more. The logo looks nice as it is IMHO wink.gif

All the video was shot in front of a green screen.

Using Premiere Pro 2
1) Edited the video to the desired lenght and exported to AVI.

Using After Effects 7.0
1) Keyed out the dancers using a combination of filters: color range and the other pick color filter (forgot the name)
2) Applied auto color and auto contrast
3) Applied Find Edges filter using the inverted option
4) Applied CC Fast Radial Blur set to Brightness, ajusted amount to 40%
5) Rendered the clips

That's it for the Dancers portion.

Thank you for your input.

Yeah a know but not much movement at all just a tiny bit so you barely cant see it i think it will make it look better, some other people may not agree but thats what i think.

I think you have done a neat job.. It looks cool.. However I do agree with Bonn3 for the moving bg...

Thank you for all the feedback,

I have added a new link with the recommend change. The background now moves ever so slightly using a fractal noise filter. Also change the color to a light orange.

I like the change, it gives it a warmer feel.

Thank you again

Hi Ash,

The link goes to the web page.

There is 2 links to compare on the page:

MJM Production Logo (which is the original)
MJM Production Logo with Fractal Background (with changes recommend by Bonn3)

Had to refresh the page... smile.gif

Looks better, to make it look even better:
Scale up the fractal noise to about 600% then make it move from left to right or right to left but not much movement. it still semmed like it was still.
I didnt see much movement. And also what is happening with the eye?
Right after the J goes up the right eye changes so you only see the eye brow , why? I think it will look better if you just fade out both eyes.
Keep it up!

Alright,

I changed the scale to 600% and you now see more movement in the background, although it's still small.

I also change the background and made it smaller with a rusty edge filter. It looks better when seeing it on the TV with the black border.

Also I used a picture of my real cat and masked it with the logo. Consequently, the colors of the letters/logo are from an actual cat.

Thanks for the input.
