I have a video in the background of one of my menu's with six little chapter preview screens. I want when each one is highlighted it to have a ring round it.

At present the menu is JUST video nothing else, all buttons graphics are embedded into an MPG file.

I have no idea how to realise this effect. Please help.

Thanks,
Dan

The effect can be achieved by using "invisible" buttons with a "stroke" for the highlight(which would sit on top of the embedded video buttons) ... kinda difficult to explain in this post... but it can be done...

Ah I see. If someone could send me a PSD of an invisible button with the highlight showing just a ring (like someone's ringed something in a newspaper, like a job ad) in light grey I would be very greatful indeed. I just can't seem to do it right in photoshop, I've never used it before (I'm a Fireworks guy)

Many Thanks,
Dan

check out tut #3 from the "Basic Tutorial Section" on my website (just click on the banner at the bottom of my post", this will give you some idea how to create the buttons and highlights.

Also i think that you may be able to take a frame of the MPEG menu directly into photoshop (from within Encore), this can be used as a template then for the positioning of your buttons. once you are done just open up your button folders in photoshop and click the little eyeball of the actual buttons to hide them.

If you are really stuck then PM me with your email addy, i will send you my addy and then you can send me a frame grab of your motion menu... but please have a bash at creating the effect first... B) wink.gif

Sorted.

Doogs' tutorial was superb and amasingly easy to follow.
