this came to me after rereading a thread on this forum...
http://www.wrigleyvideo.com/forum/index.ph...5222&hl=twixtor slakrboy said "both programs use morphing to generate new frames" and the light popped on...why not just use a morphing program to generate slow motion video? so i searched the web (okay this forum) for the better if not best morphing application and i saw a few mentions of winmorph and then hunted it down. if there's something better please post up, but this one gives you great image control. slakrboy and i on the above thread discussed why/how the slow motion apps like twixtor and motion perfect will generate 3 legs on people or cuase other blotches when there's tremendous motion and/or blurring. well if you control what gets morphed then you can eliminate most of that...i'm still testing, but watch the clip and judge for yourself. by the way this is a frame-by-grueling-frame procedure. if you're one of those that likes to just push buttons and want automatic results then this isn't for you, but if you want to put in some work and generate some good slo-mo then this might be worth your while. I seriously apologize for the WMV...i've been trying for the past few days trying to get it through the encoder, but it says there's a problem with the source format. if i get it in the next couple of days i'll post a smaller version of the avi...then again if i get a decent file size i might do it right now...let's see...
EDIT... Okay figured it out. windows media encoder wasn't taking the frame size of 720x305. i changed it to 720x306 and it processed and that reminded me that the last time i did htat frame size i used 720x304 and should've known better. anyway the file is up hope you enjoy. :D This post has been edited by mutantx: Mar 26 2006, 04:05 AM -------------------- ![]() there are 3 kinds of people in this world: those that make things happen those that let things happen and those that see it and say what the heck just happened. |

I got premire 2.0 a few days ago and i tested slowing down and i thought it looked great (with frame blending on) i didnt see much difference on your clip and mine.
But maybe it was cause i only slowed it down to 50% does it get bad when its lower like 10-20% ? -------------------- |

don't think pro nor after effects will do extreme slow motion...like 1% or 5%. try it and see...at least in 6.5 going that slow all it does is stretch the duration of a frame and there's no movement at all, but either my manual way or using twixtor or motionperfect will actually give you frames of movement, but as stated without any level of image control those two applications will give you people with 3 legs. doing it manually i get to control what gets morphed and so people have 2 legs.
EDIT... i see now why i had such bad grades in english...that's one long run-on sentence. Just my thoughts on slow mo..... One great tip is when you know you want a scene in slow mo take you're video at a higher speed (maybe 500th sec) then when slowed down it will will look sharper.. Secondly unless shooting with a high speed camera never slow down less than 20%....

that was actually my next experiment...i haven't done it yet, been a little too wrapped up in this drama called life, but getting back into the swing of things and hopefully can have something up in a few days. -------------------- ![]() there are 3 kinds of people in this world: those that make things happen those that let things happen and those that see it and say what the heck just happened. |
